WOOL AND CASHMERE VALUE CHAIN TRACEABILITY PILOT PROJECT TO BE IMPLEMENTED
UNDP’s Sustainable Cashmere Platform, in partnership with herders, herder cooperatives and cashmere producers, is piloting a value chain traceability system to ensure product quality and origin, and to ensure the apparent and sustainability of the value chain.
The project will involve the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association and wool and cashmere producers, who will monitor the quality of the products at the production stages and verify their origin.
With the traceability system, consumers will be able to use products of clear origin and quality assurance, and will be able to promote and brand products of Mongolian origin in the future.
