Women entrepreneur forum was organized for the 3rd year
On the occasion of international women right’s day the BEST program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized the Women entrepreneur forum. BEST aims to diversify the economy of Mongolia by increasing the implementation of financing small and medium businesses and improving good economic governance in Ulaanbaatar city and 12 provinces which funded by the United States Agency for International Development.
Steve Winkates, Deputy development Advisor, Mongolia of USAID, opened the forum and highlighted “Around 5500 women have built their own businesses and solved their problems through the BEST program”. The purpose of this forum is for women to exchange ideas with each other, to understand why gender equality is important and how efficient it is for women entrepreneurs to work tightly together.
During the forum, women entrepreneurs of SMEs who are involved in the implementation of the program shared their experiences and also presented the results of the research “Partcipation of women in SMEs”. According to this research, 35.7 percent of women need discounted financing, and one of the main facing issue is sustainable human resource.
