“TO BEAUTIFY THE WORLD BY MONGOLIAN CASHMERE” PROJECT WAS HANDED OVER TO THE MINISTRY OF FOOD, AGRICULTURE, AND LIGHT INDUSTRY
It is unfortunate that Mongolia’s cashmere industry currently uses only 30 percent of its annual cashmere for domestic consumption, while 70 percent of washed cashmere is exported without paying taxes. This means that we are still losing the opportunity to earn a huge income of 2.6 trillion MNT from our strategically important product. In addition, the global epidemic continues to impact badly to the producers.
Given the current situation, it is important to address the 2021 cashmere working capital loan and other priorities. In this regard, the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association held meetings with the representatives of major industries; J.Bat-Erdene, Member of the Mongolian Parliament, M.Dondogdorj, the Head of the Light Industry Policy Implementation Coordination Department of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and N.Togtokh, a researcher at the Research Institute, N.Dashzeveg, an economist. As a result, the Mongolian Cashmere Project “To beautify the world by Mongolian cashmere” was developed and submitted to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry. The project will be presented to members of Parliament and the Government in the future.
