THE MEETING OF THE SUB-WORKING GROUP “FUTURE TRENDS OF THE WORKFORCE AND THE IMPACT OF AI” WAS HELD UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF THE ECONOMIC POLICY COUNCIL.

The sub-working group of the Economic Policy Council under the Prime Minister of Mongolia “Future trends of the workforce and AI impact” held its first meeting in the Local Government Hall of the State House.
The sub-working group was headed by the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Security Enkh-Amgalan.L, Advisor to the Minister Bilgudei.D, Head of the Department of Social Welfare Policy Implementation of the General Directorate of Welfare Services Tamir.Kh, Director of Policy Research of MMCJ LLC, Bayarbaatar.A and Altantsetseg.D, Executive Director of the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association and and officials of the economic policy council, and executives of the major producers of the cashmere industry such as Gobi, Cashmere Holding LLC, and Khanbogd Cashmere LLC participated and exchanged opinions.
Davaasuren.Ch, director of policy research of MMCJ LLC, mentioned in his speech that 40-60 thousand people are unemployed in our country, and on the other hand, employers need 30-40 thousand workers therefore labor shortage will continue until 2028. First, low wages, labor productivity is not realistically evaluated, secondly, demographic growth, and thirdly, the research conducted on the labor market about the “attitudes” of the “new millennials” or generation Z.
Altantsetseg.D, Executive Director of the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, gave a speech on the topic “Demands and needs for the development of human resources in the textile industry, as well as necessary skills and training” and issues expressed such as creating a coherent policy and regulatory system, improving the tax and legal framework, empowering the workforce, implementing projects and programs that support the employment of women and youth, providing training and consulting services, and improving the labor market system and mechanism.
In the future, the parties will meet regularly to exchange opinions and raise the issue at the decision-making level regarding the need to pay attention to the labor market and workforce issues at the policy level.
