MONGOLIAN CASHMERE COMPANIES ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE “FASHION COTERIE” EXHIBITION IN NEW YORK CITY
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the United States Batbayar.U got acquainted with the activities of the “Fashion Coterie” exhibition being held in New York on September 19-21, 2023, met and discussed with representatives organized under the name of the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, Cashmere Holding LLC, Khanbogd Cashmere LLC, Snow Fields LLC, who are participating in the program with the support of the UNDP Adapt project, as well as Mr.Dondogdorj, Head of Light industry’s policy implementation of MOFALI, Mrs.Altantsetseg.D, the Executive director of the Mongolian Wool Cashmere Association, and Mr.Batsaikhan.S, a Specialist of the Adapt project.
Ambassador O. Batbayar said that the issue of trade facilitation with the third neighbor is being discussed in the US Senate, and provide the opportunity to allow by GSP deduction cashmere to be imported and exported tax-free for the next 5 years, possible for the Embassy to cooperate with the related organizations in order to export and promote cashmere products to the American market, and obtain discounted loans.
Mongolian cashmere companies have been participating in the exhibition for the 10th year to promote the quality certification mark of Mongolian Noble Fibre, standart of the Mongolian Sustainable Textile Production in the USA market, and to expand further cooperation.
“Fashion Coterie” is considered a high-class exhibition of textile, accessory and jewelry, and is characterized by the participation of 13,000 sellers and buyers and more than 1,200 brands from 95 countries.
