MONGOLIAN CAMEL-SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT POLICY CONSULTATION MEETING WAS HELD
Due to the fact that 2024 was declared by the United Nations as the International Year of the Camel Tribe, a Mongolian camel-Sustainable Development Policy consultation meeting was held on 15th November.
The meeting was aimed at identifying challenges and sharing innovative methods and knowledge in order to improve the productivity, profitability and flexibility of the industry, while also promoting partnership and cooperation among stakeholders also around 100 representatives of the Parliament’s Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture, International Organizations, research and analysis, private sector, NGOs, and camel owners participated.
The Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association gave a presentation on the current situation and problems of camel wool products and exchanged opinions with the participants. From this meeting, it is planned to make many recommendations emphasizing how the benefits of camels are important to ensure sustainable development, and to create an industry to produce products exclusively from camel wool and promote it to the foreign market.
