ITALY-MONGOLIA TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY CENTER OPENING CEREMONY
The Government of Mongolia and the Government of Italy discussed for a long time about expanding Mongolian-Italian trade and economic cooperation, intensifying cooperation between businesses, processing Mongolian wool and cashmere raw materials with the help of advanced Italian technology, and producing value-added end products. As a result of special attention, paid by the two parties, the “Italy-Mongolia Textile Technology Center” was inaugurated today.
The opening ceremony was attended by J. Bat-Erdene, Member of Parliament of Mongolia and Chairman of the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, B.Purevdorj, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Mongolian-Italian Parliamentary Group in the Parliament, T.Jambaltseren, State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry, M.Dondogdorj, Head of the Light Industry Policy Implementation Coordination Department, Laura Botta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Mongolia, Alessandro Zucchi, President of ACIMIT, Federico Pellegato, President of ACIMIT, and international donor organizations and cashmere industry executives.
J. Bat-Erdene, Member of Parliament of Mongolia and Chairman of the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, said “The Mongolian-Wool and Cashmere Association, the Italian Association of Textile Equipment Manufacturers (ACIMIT), and the Italian Trade Agency (Agenzia ICE) signed an agreement to establish an “Italy-Mongolia Textile Technology Center” in 2018, and it is being fulfilled today. The establishment of the “Italy-Mongolia Textile Technology center” will open many opportunities, such as implementing Italian best practices at all stages of production, from the supply of raw materials to the production of finished products, training personnel and get then experienced, creating new fashion products, promoting Mongolian cashmere products in the international market, and increase exports. Those are the main significances of the Italy-Mongolia Textile Technology Center”.
Henceforth, the two parties agreed to intensify cooperation in the field of textile industry, to increase competitiveness, to implement mutually beneficial and joint projects, to introduce advanced Italian technology for the purpose of learning to produce high quality products, train personnel, and develop products.
It is believed that the “Italy-Mongolia Textile Technology Center” will play an important role in training and empowering experienced engineers to work on this state-of-the-art equipment.
The main objectives of the center are:
● Conduct experimental research and develop optimal technological procedures and designs for finished textile products according to the feedback from manufacturers.
● Establish a platform for industry engineers and technologists to share experiences
● Seek opportunities to increase the competitiveness of the textile industry, produce quality products, and retain trained engineers and technicians in the industry
● Produce sample products and develop a product analytical solution for small and medium manufacturers and traders
● Advise on new projects in the textile industry and reach a joint solution
● Advising start-ups seeking to start production
● To support the expansion and modernization of production, improvement of technology, and implementation of innovations in production
We are confident that it will play an important role in further developing the textile industry, increasing competitiveness and bringing Mongolian cashmere to the world stage.
