CERTIFICATE OF “SUSTAINABLE TEXTILE PRODUCTION – VOLUNTARY CODE OF PRACTICE” ISSUED

StepEcoLab project and the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association jointly developed the “Sustainable Textile Production – Voluntary Code of Practice ” and presented “Certificates” to companies that expressed their commitment to sustainable production guidelines.
18 factories consist of Gobi Corporation, Cashmere Holding, Khanbogd Cashmere, Nans Cashmere, Munkh bumuud LLC, Snow Fields LLC, Bayalag Ulzii LLC, Gobi Erdene LLC, Goyol Cashmere LLC, Leader Cashmere LLC, National Cashmere LLC, Uguuj Shim LLC, Sanshiro LLC, Uujin LLC and Tuya LLC are planning to introduce water-efficient and socially responsible sustainable production.
M.Dondogdorj, the Head of the Light Industry Policy Implementation Coordination Department of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry, Gium Tuati, the Resident Representative of AVSF and D.Altantsetseg, Executive Director of the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association participated in the ceremony.
It would be an affair of great importance to increase the contribution of the wool and cashmere sector to the development of light industry if the companies incorporate in the Voluntary Rules for Sustainable Textile Production and can introduce environmental and ethical production in their production and business methods and be recognized in the world wool and cashmere market.
