REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GOVERNMENTS OF ITALY AND MONGOLIA ORGANIZED MEETINGS TO BRING COOPERATION IN THE CASHMERE INDUSTRY TO A NEW LEVEL
Between October 9-11, 2023, Guglielmo Picci, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Orlandi Romeo, Italy’s special envoy, Moratelli, manager of Asian countries of SACE, an Italian loan guarantee and finance organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Italy, Francesco Saldarini, CEO of Italian Saldarini Cashmere Company, and Kevin Fredi, European and International Manager of the Italian Savings and Investment Fund, visited to Mongolia.
Within the framework of the visit, the Italian ambassador to Mongolia, Her Excellency Lauro Botta, personally participated in meetings with public and private organizations such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Light Industry, the Ministry of Finance, the World Bank, and the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, successfully held business meetings on establishing a joint spinning production hub and actively conducting the activities of the cooperation consortium of the two countries.
From the Italian side, the Director of Saldarini Cashmere made a general presentation of the Italian-Mongolian joint project and asked for the government’s support, while SACE agreed to cooperate with the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association to organize a business visit to familiarize with advanced Italian machines and equipment and to create opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation on discounted terms.
During the meeting, H. Bolorchuluun, the Minister of Agriculture and Food and Light Industry, said that he will implement the project program for the development of the modern production of sustainable cashmere with added value through the Mongolian Wool Cashmere Association, as well as support the cooperation of the Italian-Mongolian textile industry.
