DISCUSSION ON “SOCIAL PARTNERSHIP AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING” IN THE CASHMERE INDUSTRY HAS BEEN ORGANIZED
On May 11, 2023, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation of Germany, the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, and the Mongolian Light Industry Workers’ Union jointly held a discussion on “Social Partnership and Collective Bargaining” to discuss the importance of establishing industry collective bargaining agreements for employers and managers of industry factories. It was organized in order to raise awareness of the importance of establishing sector’s collective bargaining, social need and necessity, to solve the problems of the human resources policy of sector, to create a fair competetive field for the companies, which is beneficial to all the stakeholders and to unify employer’s proposal, to determine the position.
Mr.Dondogdorj.M, Head of the Light Industry Policy Implementation Department of the MOFALI, Mr. Benedikt Ivanovs, country representative of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Mongolia, Mr. Yongmo Yong, senior specialist in social dialogue and labor relations of the Bureau for China and Mongolia of the ILO, Mr.Tamir.E, Mongolian Light Industry Workers’ Association, Mr. Ganbaatar.H, Executive Director of Mongolian Employer’s Federation, Mrs.Altantsetseg.D, Executive Director of MWCA and sector’s management and human resources experts, teachers of Mongolia-Korea Polytechnic College participated.
Participants were given a common understanding of Germany’s international experience and national occupational standards and wage policy, the basic principles of labor rights in the European Union collective agreements, and stakeholders held a panel discussion and exchanged opinions about whether the this agreement is a suitable model for Mongolia and decided to establish a sub-working group under the working group.
Establishing a standard model of the pioneer collective bargaining agreement in the cashmere industry, which increases the efficiency of strategic planning of companies, determines the value of work coordinated with the level of skill and qualification of the employee, ensures job stability, improves labor discipline, limits workforce movement from one factory to another, increases economic growth, creates an optimal integrated salary system to be followed in the industry, creates proper labor relations by establishing a collective bargaining agreement in the sector at a certain period of time.
