SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTANABLE CASHMERE
Altantsetseg.D, Executive Director of the Mongolian Wool Cashmere Association, Enkh-Amgalan.Ts, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Mongolian Pasture Users Group and Francesco Saldarini, CEO of the Italian Saldarini Company, signed a memorandum of understanding to develop sustainable cashmere production in Mongolia and promote it to the foreign market. Therefore, Dondogdorj.M, Head of the light industry policy implementation of MOFALI also participated in the occasion.
The aim of this memorandum is to develop the modern production and produce the sustainable cashmere by using the modern Italian green technology in Mongolia and establishing the joint consertium.
Under the MoU, the parties have agreed to work together to enhance the awareness and appreciation of best practices of nomadic livestock herding in Mongolia through sustainability code of practices, quality monitoring and traceability of Mongolian cashmere and other noble fibers, such as yak, camel, and baby camel wool.
Francesco Saldarini, Executive Director of Saldarini company highlighted that “We are honored to contribute to the development of the Mongolian cashmere industry and to support the sustainability and innovation of its value chain”.
