UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME AND SECTORAL ASSOCIATIONS’ COLLABORATION ON HUMAN RIGHTS DUE DILIGENCE
Today, the United Nations Development Programme’s Business and Human Rights Project launched the inauguration of the “Human Rights Due Diligence” initiative for three companies which operate in mining, wool and cashmere, and food sectors.
The UNDP’s Business and Human Rights Project in partnership with Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, the Mongolian Food Industry Association, and Mineral Sector Women’s Association will provide Snow Fields LLC, Trust Trade LLC, and Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC in conducting Human Rights Due Diligence initiative for the first time in their sectors to provide professional and methodological assistance.
The three companies expressed their commitment to respect human rights and environmentally friendly sustainable development, further E.Narantuya, Deputy Director of Snow Fields LLC, R.Sansarmaa, Executive Director of Trust Trade LLC, Kh.Batsaikhan, Head of Administration and Management Department оf Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC, in accordance with international standards, signed the “Declaration of Human Rights Policy”.
E. Narantuya, Deputy Director of Snow Fields LLC, emphasized how the company respects and protects human rights, and conducts business ethics responsibly when exporting its products to Japan and international markets, and has stated that it will continue to put an effort in implementing human rights in its business activities and on a voluntary basis.
