EXPORT OF MONGOLIAN CASHMERE PRODUCTS WILL BE INCREASED IN NORDIC COUNTRIES MARKET

With the support of the Embassy of Mongolia to the Kingdom of Sweden, the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association successfully organized public-private meetings and events with Swedish and Norwegian trade promotion organizations, government agencies, trading companies and businesses. Representatives of Mongolian Wool and Cashmere association, Cashmere Holding, Snow Fields, Uguuj Shim, and Leader Cashmere participated in the meeting to introduce Mongolian cashmere products to the Nordic market and increase sales channels.

The meeting with Finnpartnership, an organization which helps exporters in Finland to find suppliers, intermediaries and matchmakers in developing countries, Open Trade Gate of the National Board of Trade, a professional one-stop-shop for providing information on the Swedish market, import rules, regulations and requirements, the Norwegian Business Association held during the business meeting, and the delegation visited Gudbrands Uldvarefabrik, the Norwegian textile factory with the history of 130 years. In addition, our party introduced features of Mongolian cashmere, made industry introduction, and samples of Mongolian cashmere and yak wool products were displayed, and further, exchanged their views on future cooperation. As of 2020, Norway exported 6,172 hides and Sweden exported 2,290 cashmere products from Mongolia, which is insufficient statistics for Nordic countries with similar climates.

The Mongolian cashmere industry agreed to submit a proposal for cooperation by this fall to the Federation of Norwegian Industries and the proposal includes activities as follows: Open Trade Gate of the National Board of Trade to organize special training for Mongolian cashmere industry, and detailed information about Mongolian companies to be posted on the Finnpartnership website and get introduced to the Finnish market and get connected to customers, additionally introduce Mongolian cashmere to the Nordic market, and to carry out continuous marketing activities.

As a result of promoting products to Sweden and EU markets where weather is cold and purchasing power and standard of living are high, also by getting introduced with market features and information on the legal and economic environment, the meeting made it possible for us to supply market-oriented, quality, certified, and sustainable products, and to increase trade turnover of wool and cashmere products in the Nordic countries.
