To support Mongolian wool and cashmere producers in the production of household goods, including the development of environmentally and human-friendly products and their introduction to the European market.

Within the framework of the program, in order to strengthen the capacity of Mongolia’s wool and cashmere industry select and support human resources assistance specialists, interns and long-term professional volunteers in government and private sector organizations.

Since 2018 /AVSF StepEcolab project/:

• Assessment of the main environmental and social impacts of a selected panel of Mongolian wool and cashmere processing companies, identification of best practices and recommendations for improvement
• Assessment of the skills wool and cashmere engineer and technical staff need to possess to match expectation of processors and their commitment to sustainability
• Developed the volunteer operation rules
• Recruited international consultants to expand marketing and foreign markets, increase competitiveness, increase sales and participate in international exhibitions of Mongolian wool and cashmere product of manufacturing companies
• Made promotions and handbooks for joint meetings and discussions
• Organized the trainings
• A platform was established to identify solutions for the development of sustainable products in the textile industry of Mongolia
• “Sustainable Textile Production” and “Responsible Nomads” standards for sustainable production of raw materials of animal origin have established
• Participated in Premiere Vision 2022 international exhibition

JETRO project in 2010-2011

• The project “Improving the quality of cashew products” was implemented in cooperation with the Japanese foreign trade and investment company JETRO
• Successfully participated in the International Fashion Exhibition held in Tokyo
• Improved cashmere products and improved engineering skills.

Since 2013, ACHIMIT /Association of Italian Equipment Manufacturers/

• At the invitation of ACHIMIT, 21 representatives of the Mongolian wool and cashmere industry went on a business trip to Rome, Milan, Venice, Vicenza, Germany in order to get to know the activities of textile equipment manufacturing companies in the country, research equipment prices, conclude contracts, and explore the possibility of leasing. Organized in Stuttgart.
• 14 representatives of ACHIMIT in the field of spinning, weaving and processing visited Mongolia and got acquainted with the activities of Mongolian Govi, Goyo, Eermel and Buyan LLC, introduced advanced Italian equipment, organized a joint workshop and exchanged ideas.

The following 4 volumes of books necessary for the Mongolian cashmere industry have been translated from English to Mongolian. It includes:

• “Spinning production technology and equipment”,
• “Weaving production technology and equipment”,
• Localization of advanced Italian technology in Mongolia
• Organization of joint training, seminars, exchange of experience
• The following activities are being carried out within the scope of the cooperation agreement.
• “Technology and equipment of textile processing industry”
• “Technology and equipment of knitting production”,
• Establishment of a Technology Transfer Center with the support of the Italian Government

Since 2010, the International Woolen Textile Organization (IWTO)

• Mongolia became a member of the 24th full-fledged national committee of IWTO.\
• Acquaintance with the new standard regulations of OU, exchange of information and study of experience.

Since 2014, the Swiss Development Agency Green-Gold, Animal Health Project

• Farmers and producers have traditionally organized joint training, seminars and workshops to improve the quality system of raw material preparation.
• Raw material preparation and processed wool and cashmere quality standards, drapery standards and cashmere comb standards have been developed.
• Industries of the industry participated in the OU “Coterie” trade fair held in spring and autumn in New York City, USA to promote yak wool and camel wool products, increase exports and expand foreign markets.
• Product development / production and testing of new types of products / has been carried out by Snow Fields, Bayalag Ulziy and Kashmir Holding companies and introduced into production.
• OEKO-TEX 100 international standard certificate obtained for yarns of Snow Fields, Sor Kashmir Ltd.

2014-2016 International Trade Organization /ITC/-Mongolian cashmere industry project “Supporting and empowering business activities of women entrepreneurs and helping them enter foreign markets”

• 40 wool and cashmere companies and 4 design schools participated in the project
• Creation of new products, testing and research were carried out within the Mongolian cashmere-Ethiopian silk project
• SMEs participated in promoting Mongolian wool and cashmere products at New York’s LDNY festival.
• “KNITWEAR Fashion SHOW” competition was organized.
• Training, seminars, and consulting services included management of female entrepreneurs and ITA
